5 Benefits Of Energy Healing

mansmileAn energy healer is someone who brings positive energies to those individuals who need help to re-balance their own energies or release the negative energies within them. Often, people that seek the help of an energy healer are struggling with grief, addiction, stress, depression or other mental health problems. They can feel like they are being consumed with negative energy and that they cannot find positivity on their own. An energy healer will help them to re-balance their energies and go forward, tackling their issues head on with renewed strength and love.

Energy healing can help anyone. It isn’t just about targeting specific issues. Here are just five ways consulting an energy healer in NYC could help you.

Stress Management

Stress is a huge problem in modern society. We’re all busy, always rushing, constantly on our phones, in demand and feeling like we’re not quite good enough. An abundance of negative energy can make it easy to get trapped in a cycle of stress. Going backward and forward stressing about different problems, never quite reaching any resolutions or feeling at peace. An energy healer could help you find ways to manage your stress through positivity, instead of getting sucked into negative thought processes.

Healthier Relationships

Building and maintaining positive relationships can be tough. Our relationships are influenced by how we interpret each other’s words and actions. Which is often prejudiced by how we feel about ourselves and the events and relationships of our past. Letting go of these negative energies can make it much easier to enjoy and appreciate our current and future relationships.

Productivity

One reason people struggle with productivity is a lack of self-confidence and self-belief. If we think we can’t do something, or that we’re not good enough or fast enough, this negativity holds us back. We procrastinate out of a fear of failure, we don’t give it our all and we struggle with our creative flow. An energy healer can help you to put all these negative feelings behind you. Instead, you will be able to think positively about your own abilities, focusing on what you are good at and seeking ways to improve where you aren’t as good. Progressing without fear will help you to become more productive and creative in your work.

Happiness

thumbsupUltimately, we’re all striving for happiness in all walks of life. But, many of us are stopping ourselves from achieving it by looking for the negatives in all situations. Energy healing can help you to cut out this habit and instead look for happiness and love in whatever you do.

Spiritual Growth

Clearing your mind and soul of negativity can help you to embrace your own spirituality. No longer held back by negative forces you could become a much calmer, more spiritual person, in tune with nature, your body and whatever power you believe in.

Put simply, energy healing uses positive energies to break through any internal barriers in the way of your happiness. Doing this allows your body to heal itself and your mind to grow. If you’ve never tried energy healing, why not give it a go?

5 Enjoyable Ways To Gain More Energy

healthyheartIn our busy world, an extra boost of energy never hurts. This is especially true for the 10-15% of people who say they regularly feel run down. Usually it isn’t a singular issue that leads to exhaustion but rather several overlapping habits that are keeping your body from fully recovering from daily activity.

If you are trying to lose weight the healthy way, energy is important for both your willpower and wellbeing. Making a few enjoyable adjustments could be all you need to power through the day.

Eat Breakfast

Breakfast really is the most important meal because it revs up our engines, helps us fill up with fuel and keeps blood sugar levels in check. The latter point is much more important than many people realize. When you forgo breakfast you’re much more likely to experience spikes and drastic drops in blood sugar throughout the entire day. Spikes in blood sugar are met with a rush of insulin to control it, and this can cause your energy levels to crash.

A protein packed breakfast is the easiest way to keep blood sugar levels regulated. Follow it up with several small meals and snacks to feel energized all day.

Get Deep Sleep

Sleep is needed for the body to recharge. If you aren’t getting enough in general that’s a problem, but if your sleep is regularly interrupted that can also lower your energy levels. There are four stages of sleep that are cyclical. Deep sleep happens in the last two stages of sleeping, and it’s the most effective at warding off sleep drive during the day. It’s important to go through these stages multiple times in a night because the most impactful deep sleep happens within the first two cycles. If you are constantly waking up you may not be getting enough deep sleep even if you hit the sheets for 7-8 hours a night.

Guzzle Water

waterbottleDehydration is an instant energy zapper. Even mild dehydration will have you dragging your feet no matter how much you exercise. On top of that dehydration will also inhibit your ability to think clearly and affects your mood. How do you know you’re mildly dehydrated? If you feel thirsty your body is already dehydrated. You don’t necessarily have to drink eight glasses of water a day, but it is important to hydrate every few hours.

Get Out in the Sun

Artificial, fluorescent lighting could be draining your energy. Employers are paying attention to new studies that show artificial lighting can negatively affect productivity. A Swiss neurologist found that natural light has the opposite affect. Study participants that spent time out in the sunlight were more alert and less likely to feel sleepy in the late afternoon and early evening.

Meditate Each Morning

A little bit of relaxing me time never hurt anyone, and it can have a positive affect on your energy levels. Starting your day with just 5-10 minutes of meditation has many health benefits, including increased energy levels. The main reason meditation is so great at upping energy levels is because you’re more focused on breathing deeply. When you take shallow breaths you aren’t getting enough oxygen in your body. Deep breaths will flood the body with oxygen helping cells repair themselves, lowering the heart rate and increasing blood circulation – all of which can help you increase your energy.

These are just five easy ways you can start feeling more energized instantly. Tonight get a good night’s sleep, then tomorrow wake up and have a healthy breakfast after meditating for a few minutes. At work keep a bottle of water at your desk as a reminder to drink up, and take it with you on a short afternoon walk outside. You’ll be amazed at how much more energized you feel throughout the day.

New Book – Calories In, Calories Out: Which Side Of The Energy Balance Equation Outweighs The Other?

Thank you to PRWeb for providing this article about a new book. Please share your thoughts in the comments section….

saladsStudies are underway to test the effectiveness of types of calorie labeling on foods. Will knowing both the number of calories and the amount of exercise it will take to burn off those calories be more effective in consumers making healthier food choices?

Catherine Jones and Elaine Trujillo, MS RDN, authors of The Calories In Calories Out Cookbook (The Experiment, 2014), espouse the idea that effective weight loss and maintenance come from knowing both sides of this equation. Their critically-acclaimed new book, showcasing 200 delicious low-calorie recipes, gives readers both the calories in and calories out values. It’s the only cookbook that has taken this bold and novel approach and applied it to home cooking. The mission of the 400-page tome is to promote a healthy lifestyle through cooking at home, using whole versus processed foods, and stepping up exercise to achieve energy balance.

Before the research results of the ongoing studies are validated, Jones and Trujillo have jumped the gun by giving readers all the information they need in their book. As Jones says, “Knowing both the calories in and calories out values make eating and drinking a much more conscious process. You’ve got facts the to help you make the healthiest choices possible. When you’re lured by the sweet scent of a large gooey Cinnabon, and we all have our weak hungry moments, knowing that it contains 880 calories that will take about 200 minutes to burn off, might empower you to walk by and feel good.”

The trend towards calorie awareness is catching. Major food companies are beginning to shift their focus to lower-calorie, reduced-fat, healthier foods. In a five-year study by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, results showed that Americans have cut back an average of 78 calories from their daily diets, reducing 6.4 trillion calories in sales of food and beverages. The excellent news is that this reduction is driven by consumer demand. Processed food sales have been stagnant, and a marketing campaign against sugary sodas has been highly effective. Companies have changed to smaller package sizes, they are adding less oils, sugar and salt, and many are actively inventing healthier products.

Yet the fact remains that over one-third of adults in the United States are obese, and obesity is a culprit of many of the serious health problems from diabetes to heart disease. More needs to be done to prevent a looming national health crisis and economic disaster with rising healthcare costs.

Would listing calories out values on foods help reverse the rates of weight gain and obesity? Jones says, “It’s certainly worth sharing that knowledge with consumers. It can only empower them and it will teach the younger generations to think twice before they eat. They are the ones that will ultimately reverse this rising weight trend, or not.”

With Halloween around the corner, trillions of calories are about to be poured into the streets. Kids and adults will spike their sugar levels to the moon. Have you ever thought to consider the total number of calories that can be held by a smiling jack-o-lantern-shaped loot bag? According to a study by Loyola University Medical School, the average trick-or-treater collects 4,800 calories and over three cups of sugar. For some, who make collecting candy their primary goal, the calorie count can be much higher, even into the tens of thousands. The Calories In and Calories Out Blog has practical advice on what to do with all that loot. So, before you get your costumes on, find your running shoes to burn off the booty.

Boost Your Energy, Naturally And Deliciously

stresssleepingIf you’re feeling tired and lacking energy there are two things to consider. Is it chronic or is it temporary? If you have chronic low energy, you should see you doctor because something else might need attention such as your adrenals or thyroid. If you have times when you’re feeling worn out and exhausted from the have-to’s of life, then you might want to consider these three natural kickstarters that can help you feel more alive and have more energy.

Kickstarter #1: Lemons and oranges.

Did you know that vitamin C helps the cells transport and utilize fatty acids thus amping up your energy level? The vitamin C in citrus fruits can speed up the fat burning process and help you feel more energized. Add 3-4 thin slices of lemon or orange to your water to get that boost of Vitamin C and to help use fats as energy. It may also aid in weight loss.

Kickstarter #2: Cucumbers

The natural diuretic effects of cucumbers contain potassium and vitamins A and C which flush out toxins and keep your metabolism moving. Add 6-8 slices of cucumber to a pitcher of spring water and drink this all day long for a vital cool, refreshing drink.

Kickstarter #3: Cayenne Pepper

Research has shown that the capsaicin found in cayenne pepper can boost your metabolism shortly after ingesting it and make you feel fuller. While spicy water may not sound inviting, you might want to give it a chance before rejecting the whole idea. Mix slice strawberries, blueberries, and just half a teaspoon of cayenne pepper into your water. You’ll have a surprisingly sweet, calorie-melting pick-me-up with just little bit of kick. A touch of lime is also divine.

You can usually always find bottled water so a hint I like to include is to take a container of citrus slices, cucumber slices and the makings for the cayenne kickstarter with you, so you’ll always have a supply of natural helpers with you when you need them most. This helps you stay away from sweet snacks, sugars and saturated fats when you want a healthy energy lift.

seniormanThe Ultra-Violet Ray is called ultra because it goes “beyond our senses. “It is the frequency that connects us between our bodies and our Spirits. In my Invisible Art & Light Technique©, the vibration is an octave higher than the vibration of the violet color, which means: it is beyond the body of the violet color. Because of this, it reaches beyond the visible spectrum. Black light combined with natural light are needed to view my paintings using this technique. Under the black light, viewers can experience the transformation of each painting from an oil-on-canvas depicting the physical world — to an incredibly vibrant painting that, when the lights are dimmed, exposes the non-physical world that surrounds us. Viewers experience a breakthrough to a new path and a new consciousness.

The Vibration of the Ultraviolet or Black Light:

The Ultraviolet or Black light is a space where all colors are manifested, and creates a vastness in unity and harmony. Ultraviolet and Black light go 1/8 the outside of the spectrum that our eyes can see. Interestingly, images only visible in ultraviolet light can be seen by some nocturnal animals. Divine energy can more easily be manifested through the ultraviolet spectrum. The Invisible Art & Light Technique© embodies new forms of expressions that, project images and higher vibrations of the dimensions beyond our physical existence–and all that exists in Higher planes–into “our physical reality.”

These concepts provoke amazing manifestations of creativity in workshops that I teach for both children and adults. Students of all ages experience breath taking insights fueled by their own inspired creativity and enlightened vision. By experiencing “invisible dimensions” students are awakened to new capacity for creative development in multiple sectors of life.

I highly recommend your own exploration into the Invisible dimensions of color and art if you seek to inspire your own creativity.

paintThroughout history Art has had great power to influence. Colors alone have been an expression and silent language of life, man, nature and culture. Every idea and sensation possesses a color…colors are thoughts! In essence there exists within each of us a rainbow array of emotions and ideas. Our ability to harness and ignite such emotions, ideas and passions can directly impact our creative energy.

Art in its many forms of painting, poetry, music, singing, architecture, writing, dance, sacred geometry, archetypes and theater are manifestations of creative forces at work. It is generally understood that ignited creativity brings forth inspiring and passionate art in all its forms. However, the even more exciting revelation is that, when we experience such inspired art, it has the power to unleash our creative forces for application in various other areas of life – including school, work, relationships and wellness.

There is a need to open our hearts and eyes to see and experience the colors of life, including those that are beyond the visible spectrum. In doing so, we can truly connect with our creative passions and potential. Art is an experience of the sublime, or the divine. It enriches our lives, and by inspiring us it raises our beings into higher states of vibrations, connecting us with our inner divine force. This, is the mission of Art, it touches us so we can raise our inspirational level and awaken the forces of creativity and consciousness.

The Violet Color:

Violet is the color of seekers. It has the highest vibration of all colors and corresponds, in music, to “Ti “and, to the Moon in the planetary cycle. Wagner had his studio painted in violet, and composed his music to the vibration of the violet color. Many artists have used violet’s high vibration to inspire them in their creative expressions. Masters have “talked” to humanity through the emanation of this high vibrational color ray. As a fountain of violet singing flame, the Blue or Purple Flames have magnetized people for centuries, from every corner of the world, setting them free from every binding condition of body, mind and soul.

Your Energy Could Be Affecting Your Child – Part 2

By Cindy Nolte

Continued from part 1 of this article…..

motherbabyyogaLet’s explore the connection between parent and child and why this phenomenon seems to exist. Almost from the moment your child is born they recognize you. They are drawn to you. You develop mom or dad ears that allow you to hear them from a sound sleep. You have a connection that lets you know if they are happy or sad and even if they need you before they tell you. You can feel the mood your child is in even before they tell you what is going on. All of this is possible from an energetic connection that is formed at conception. This connection does not just allow helpful information to be shared. It also creates a link in which energy is shared between child and parent.

Exploring this theory further, you can see synchronicities between disharmonies that appear different, but are in reality only appearing different due to the layer of the energetic field that they show themselves. A parent who feels stuck or unable to move forward in life may have a child with issues in their lower extremities (legs, feet, ect.). A parent unable to grasp life may have a child with arm, hand or finger disharmonies. At first glance this may seem unrelated, however we also must consider that the child’s life experiences affect their energetic field as well, thus their vulnerabilities can appear in different layers of their etheric field-each governing a different part of the whole person. (body/mind/spirit) Depending on the layer of the etheric field that is most vulnerable, the disharmony can show itself to be physical, mental or emotional.

The human energetic field is made up of layers that govern our being. Life experiences can strengthen or weaken these layers. As stated, our connection to others can affect your energy as well. Physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects are all represented within these layers. As vulnerabilities occur, if this energetic change is left unattended it can affect others we are connected to as well as other layers within our own energy.

We are human. We will get aches, pains and other mind/body/spirit disharmonies that are not in our control. Control what you can and focus on maintaining positive energy. If this energetic connection exists, what does this mean? Take care of yourself and you will also be caring for your child. Relieve your stress; have babies that sleep through the night. Do you want well-balanced grounded children? Exercise and be grounded yourself. The positive changes you make today may impact your child and even your grandchildren someday. You will be surprised at the balanced household you can create.

Your Energy Could Be Affecting Your Child – Part 1

By Cindy Nolte

womantwistingEnergy makes up all things. If you are vibrating negative energy, it may be impacting your child without you even realizing it. Individuals are overworked, stressed and spread too thin at times. Everyone has heard stress is not good for your health, but did you know your stress could be affecting your child’s health too? The link between child and parent’s energy field does not stop with stress levels. They may take on physical, emotional, and/or even spiritual disharmonies all as a result of the energy you may not even know you are vibrating. For purposes of this article, we will refer to any “disease”, ache, pain, emotional distress, or “abnormality” as simply a “disharmony”.

As an energy worker, I receive calls from parents who decide to “give energy work a try” as a last ditch effort to solve their child’s concerns. Often, I find that these children are just simply in one way or another mirroring the disharmony of their own parents. Children sometimes take on pain similar to that of what a parent may be experiencing. I often suggest that both child and parent(s) undergo energy work to complement the child’s challenges if it is an acute concern for this reason.

It is interesting to speak with parents regarding the disharmonies of their children. While they describe the pain their child is feeling, they may be holding the very spot on themselves that is the child’s area of concern; soon divulging that they themselves developed the same issue as a child about their age. Perhaps, although you have always tried to hide your worry from your children, you find that your children are becoming worriers too. Maybe the economy has you developing issues with anxiety and now your son/daughter is showing signs of this disharmony as well. Phobias that you may have never discussed with your children may show themselves-like fear of heights, birds, closed in places. We call this hereditary most often, but what if it was in your energy rather than just your genes? Even within the philosophies of energy work we are brought back to the age old question of nature vs nurture. Nature, being dna-the child’s genetic makeup, while nurture, in this case being represented by the energy of their parents. If this statement holds true, this would also support why adopted children sometimes develop their adoptive parent’s “hereditary” conditions or traits.

What if leaving your negative emotions at the door when you get home allowed parents to positively impact their child’s health? There are countless studies that support that having a positive mindset can make the difference between surviving a serious illness and succumbing to it. Parents set the tone for the household. Positive parents have uplifting homes. Positive moods are said to build the immune system.

Visualization – Bringing Fitness To A Higher Level

By Jana Hollingsworth

joggersEver wonder how professional athletes get ready for their big day? Whether it’s a marathon, boxing match, or weight lifting competition, competitors find that using visualization can be extremely helpful in reaching their goals. I know coaches who work with athletes and have them envisioning crossing the finish line first or perhaps knocking out their opponent. Whatever goal it may be, in or out of the fitness realm, visualization is a wonderful tool!

When I did my first Figure competition, I envisioned myself making the “top 5” and it worked! By the time I did my second competition, I was visualizing first place and it happened! Visualization can be a very powerful tool!

Whatever your goals, visualization can be very helpful in attaining them. Here are some examples how it can work for you:

Running your first marathon. After you make the commitment to run the race, write your commitment on paper. Once this is completed, set small goals for yourself to accomplish each week (i.e. I will run “x” amount of miles this week at “x” amount of time for each mile I run.”) After you have written your goals down, take a few minutes to visualize yourself accomplishing these goals. Once you’ve gone through it in your mind, it will be easier to do the physical portion of it.

saladStart eating a healthy diet. Think about the reasons you want to change your diet and write them down on paper. Then, commit to a particular goal each week and write that down as well. Once you are clear on the reasons you want to eat healthy and have your goals in place, visualize what your life will look like once you clean up your diet (i.e. week 1 you commit to cleaning out all junk food in the house. Sit quietly and visualize going through all your cupboards and refrigerator and tossing everything into the garbage. Write down how you feel after envisioning yourself performing the task. If you get a positive feeling, you know you are ready to tackle it for real!

Signing up for a new class at the gym. It’s totally understandable to have some fear around joining a new class at the gym. Will I make a fool of myself, are the steps going to be hard to learn, will I be able to do it? These are some of the questions that may be rolling around in your mind. My suggestion would be to watch the class a few times. Then, visualize yourself walking into the room and selecting a certain spot. From there, you can visualize the basics of the class (how the teacher starts the class, certain steps she does, and maybe how she ends the class). Once you have that picture in your head, picture yourself moving through the class with grace and ease!

The more you can visualize yourself being successful when you are setting goals for yourself, the easier it will be to attain them! Don’t let fear stand in your way. Visualize some big goals for yourself and reach for the stars with confidence!

Energy Drinks, Alcohol And Teens Shouldn’t Mix

sodaFrom Your Health Journal…..”A interesting article from a local CBS affiliate written by Ryan Jaslow called Experts: Energy drinks, alcohol and teens shouldn’t mix. Over the years, we have read many stories about energy drinks, caffeine, and alcohol usage for children or teens. A recent article suggests that energy drinks can cause insomnia, rapid heartbeat, high blood pressure, anxiety and obesity among other issues which can be exasperated by alcohol. There are many adults and teens who consume energy drinks wisely, with no problems, but the problem for many, is when it is combined with alcohol. Alcohol misuse by teens is nothing new, but trying to find a solution to this is the challenge. The study also stated that drinking just one caffeinated beverage mixed with alcohol can be the same as drinking a bottle of wine and several cups of coffee, according to the study. So, what can be done. The one thing is to educate teens about the dangers of mixing caffeine and alcohol. Please visit the CBS web site (link provided below) to read the complete article.”

From the article…..

The caffeinated contents of energy drinks like Red Bull and Monster can be dangerous for teens, especially when combined with alcohol, new research confirms.

A report, published on Feb. 1 on Pediatrics in Review, reiterated that energy drinks can cause insomnia, rapid heartbeat, high blood pressure, anxiety and obesity among other issues which can be exasperated by alcohol.

Other side effects include concerning behaviors, which can include drunk driving and risky sexual behavior.

“I don’t think there is any sensationalism going on here. These drinks can be dangerous for teens,” review lead author Dr. Kwabena Blankson, a U.S. Air Force major and an adolescent medicine specialist at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Va., told HealthDay. “They contain too much caffeine and other additives that we don’t know enough about. Healthy eating, exercise and adequate sleep are better ways to get energy.”

Making things worse, study authors said, that energy drink makers constantly market to young people, leading them to think it’s okay to mix their drinks. These adolescents and young adults aren’t always aware that mixing alcohol and energy drinks can make them feel less drunk than they really are, they said.

Drinking just one caffeinated beverage mixed with alcohol can be the same as drinking a bottle of wine and several cups of coffee, according to the study. Sixteen-ounce energy drinks have about 160 mg of caffeine, compared to one average cup of coffee which only contains 100 mg. More than 100 mg a day of caffeine is unhealthy for teens, Blankson told HealthDay. Other additives like sugar, ginseng and guarana boost the caffeinated effects in the energy drinks.
