My name is Payden Sewell and I am an internet marketing analyst at Full Media, a digital marketing and design firm located in north Atlanta and Chattanooga. I have worked with a variety of clients, and one thing has always rang true when it comes to improving SEO and site rankings: quality, relevant, and up to date content. I have had great success simply by creating relevant,well written, and informative on site content. From blogs to landing pages, the key is simple: write informative engaging content.

At our firm, we have a saying “write for the humans, the machines will take care of themselves.” Many online marketers made the mistake of creating keyword stuffed content that did not read well and was a bit spammy. For example, a client of ours came to us after suffering a large drop in rankings. The problem was their content. For demonstration, let’s say it was a local gym based in Atlanta, GA. The content onsite was constructed to try and play to Google’s algorithms and read something like: “Atlanta gym, Gym Name, is the answer to all of your Atlanta gym needs in Atlanta. As a gym in Atlanta, we are committed…” As you can see, this way of writing around keywords is spammy and is now ineffective in rankings. After rewriting the content with a small sprinkling of keywords to appeal to the humans reading the actual content, the site’s rankings are now above where they were prior to the ranking’s drop. With that said, I would say that my main piece of advice is to write for your audience with a few of the keywords you would like to rank for naturally inserted and let the rankings take care of themselves.
