We hope you enjoy it!

1. Your name, title, and age? What do you do (or did you do) for a living?

Jenn Powdermaker, age 45, I am a life & health coach as well as the author of the forthcoming books; “The Obesity Solution” & “Growing Up Indigo”

2. Who was the person that inspired you as a child to eat healthy and stay fit? What was their relationship to you?

The person who really inspired me to get healthy was the toughest football coach & gym teacher at my High School. I had him for Freshman health class (i.e.Gym) & he was the first person in my life who encouraged me to get healthy; I was very obese as a child & every teacher up until then had treated me as a “lost cause”, he was the first teacher to actually help me instead of making me feel like I was just some useless looser taking up space in their class.

3. What did they do to inspire you?

He took the time to show me basic exercises & stretching, gave me extra credit assignments that helped me understand the relationship between exercise & good health and let me use the weight/training room to practice my new skills which was usually reserved only for the football team. Just by taking the time to talk to me about health & treating me with basic respect he gave me the confidence (for the first time in my life) to try to do something about my obesity. As a result I started on a life long path of physical health that I still benefit from today.

momdaugtherbike4. How did their lesson change your life?

He changed my life by being the first person to believe in me & that made me start believing in myself, that I could take control of my weight, lead a healthy, active life & feel good about myself. I owe him a huge thank you.

5. Do you convey their message to kids in your life presently?

Through my writing & coaching work I communicate the message to kids & adults that it’s never too late or too early to take control of their health with simple & fun physical activities. The more fun you have doing what it is you do the more likely you are to succeed, for me fun & fitness go hand in hand.

6. What would be your main message to children today to lead healthy lifestyles?

Find an activity that you enjoy or are interested in & go for it! If you need help or coaching find someone who is willing to teach you and most importantly
be patient with yourself as you learn new skills, over time you will see & feel the improvement in your performance.

7. Do you have a web site you would like to promote….web address only?

No web-site yet but folks can email me at: [email protected]
