Today’s Guest – Dr. Kevin Kita

1. Your name, title, and age? What do you do (or did you do) for a living?

Dr. Kevin Kita, Chiropractor, Author, International Speaker, and Radio Host, 53 years old, I am a Chiropractor

2. Who was the person that inspired you as a child or adult to eat healthy and stay fit? What was their relationship to you?

The person that inspired me to stay healthy was my Grandfather.

3. What did they do to inspire you?

He inspired me because he had a set routine he did everyday in order to stay healthy. It was not some grueling exercise program, but he was so consistent in his health habits everyday of his life. He lived to be 96 years old and when he died he still had all his mental capabilities with him. He never went to a nursing home to die a slow death.

4. How did their lesson change your life?

The way he changed my life is that consistency in doing positive things for your health everyday makes a huge difference in not only your health, but also the your mind and your spirit. He would exercise everyday. He would walk about 2-3 miles a day and do stretching exercises combined with strength training at the same time. It was like Pilates, but it was some sort of Japanese floor exercises, that combined stretching and strength at the same time. These exercise were only for about 20 minutes a day, but they were challenging. He would also read everyday. He would read the bible everyday too. His eating habits were simple. He ate only healthy foods, but he told me never eat until your full. You should stop eating before your totally full because it will make you feel slow and tired. It will also put too much undue stress on the body.

5. Do you convey their message to kids in your life presently?

I convey this message to kids and everybody else that I come in contact with. The people that come in my office, I will convey this message to them that it is about consistencey and not some fad diet or fad exercise program.

6. What would be your main message to children today to lead healthy lifestyles?

To be healthy it is a life long commitment, not just a few days a year. It is a daily routine that needs to be done your whole life. You will have a healthy success in your routine. I also tell them that it is just not physical health you need to be concerned about, but also your mind. Read ten pages of a book everyday to keep your mind sharp.
