motherbabyyogaA short daily workout can have an enormous impact on your health and well-being. By doing a little something everyday, you will tone up, lose weight, and feel better.

Mantras, visualizations, and scripting are powerful tools to enhance your workout. Visualizations can help to reprogram your brain with positive messages and will help you to be more health conscious during the day. A few simple mantras and visualizations during your workout can work wonders for you both physically and psychologically.

One of my favorite moves is the Happy Baby! For those of you not familiar with this move, it is a yoga position where you lie on your back and bring your legs up and place your hands on the insteps of your feet. You then rock back and forth and then rock from side to side. It is a great stretch and feels really good.

When performing the happy baby I smile and pretend I am a happy baby! I also repeat the following mantra; “I am a happy baby and nothing anyone says or does is going to bother me today, all of my needs are met. Everybody loves a happy baby!” This is where the psychology comes in. The move is fun and childlike and puts me in a childlike frame of mind. This mantra helps me to visualize being a happy baby.

While saying this mantra, I actually become a happy baby in my mind for a few moments. This helps me to let go of the worries and negative energy of the “adult world” and puts me in a place of pure joy. The place of the happy baby that everybody loves! I always imagine that I am a happy baby and that I do not have a care in the world when I am doing this move. There is something very magical about this psychology. Doing this everyday reinforces happy and healthy thoughts.

Other moves include the Veggie Tray. This is a move that uses serving fresh fruits and veggies as a visualization while doing the exercise. There are also full-body breaths that help to oxygenate the body and the brain. There are many mantras that I use while performing the full-body breaths. For example: Breathe in positive energy, breathe out negative energy, breathe in love, breathe out fear, breathe in health, breathe out all illness, along with many more. By performing these each day, you reprogram your subconscious mind and begin to feel more positive about your life and to feel better in general. The combination of movements, mantras, and visualizations really work wonders for your mind and body!

I encourage everyone to take at least five minutes each day to do a little workout. Reciting these mantras while performing the exercises will help to relieve stress, anxiety, and depression. A small investment of five minutes each day for your health and well-being will pay off in ways beyond your imagination. Give yourself this gift each day and reap incredible rewards!

After years of health and fitness research, exercise classes, and personal trial and error, Jean finally met her goal weight and kept it off with a five-minute morning routine that she created for herself. She refined this workout over time and realized it could help others that did not have the time to workout or go to the gym. That is how the Team PJW 5-Minute Pajama workout was created. This workout is quick, easy, and enjoyable, and you can do it at home, in your pajamas, in as little as five minutes!
