Welcome to the category of my blog simply called ‘Healthy Tips.’ Many times, when I write articles for various publications, I need to find sources for the story as seen in Yahoo Shine (click here) or PBS (click here) about staying healthy. I was looking for experts and non-experts to chime in and give their favorite ‘tips’ to help kids and adults lead a healthy lifestyle.

The feedback for various stories was amazing. The sources had some fantastic points of view that could not be ignored, and I thought their opinions should be viewed on the Your Health Journal web site.

So, enjoy my new series, with some ‘great’ insight from some ‘great’ people giving exceptional and educational points of view.

Healthy Tip From Sheridan Becker

“I am a mother of two children, ages 10 and 11 years old I’ve discovered that exercise is a brilliant way to spend time together as a family. And I’ve discovered a few fun ways to exercise as a family unit. Desperation. Yes. Desperation. If the kids know I need a gallon of milk in the morning and I need to go to the grocery store I turn around and ask the kids to come with me to run the errand, but we have to WALK to the nearest grocery store. Yes. Walk. And when we head out on our walks they end up to be simply brilliant. While on our walks the kids ends-up spilling the beans on just about everything during walks, and we are exercising so I am double double-duty as parent.”
