Happy Start Of Summer – What Is Your Memorial Day Resolution?

Hard to believe Memorial Day weekend is upon us. Funny, most people make a New Year’s Resolution to get healthier through exercise, nutrition, adequate sleep, and proper hydration. I never make this resolution at New Year’s, rather Memorial Day weekend is my time to get healthier. First and foremost, we honor our military, past and present this weekend. This always comes first, without them, we do not have a lot of the freedoms we have today. So, thank you.

But, Memorial Day weekend seems like a great time to get fit. The weather turns nice, more daylight, more outside time, and just an all around happy feeling that we made it through another winter.

I have been fortunate, never really been overweight in my life. But, as I get older, I am starting to feel if I lose a few pounds, it will benefit me in many ways. I have pretty much had the same frame since high school, and always been active. I also try to eat healthy, and exercise daily. So, I started thinking about one change I could make. On top of all I do, my wife and I have decided to walk two miles everyday. I have to say, I love it. The peace and quiet, the spring air, the nice conversation during the walk, quality time with my wife, and most of all, some extra aerobic activity.

Never underestimate the value of walking. Such a great aerobic activity, and safe on the joints….and just plain fun.
