An interview with Author, Jimmy Blakemore.

1. What is your name?

My name is Jimmy Blakemore.

2. What is the name of your book?

My first short story is called THE DEAD WRITER’S SOCIETY.

3. Why did you get into writing books?

I got into writing after reflecting on what I wanted to do when I was a teenager last year. I was thinking of how I would be turning thirty years old this year, and I remembered what I wanted to do when I was younger. When I was seventeen years old, I started learning about poetry and listening to music by Ozzy Osbourne (among others) and became increasingly interested in gothic poetry. Then I saw the film adaptation of Stephen King’s short story 1408, starring John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson. This was when I knew that I wanted to become a writer and create worlds that I could share with others. This is where my passion for writing started.

4. What advice can you give young authors?

If you want to become an author, you need to remember to create a plan and follow your dreams. It doesn’t matter what you write, so long as you write. Another thing is that if you want to write, you need to read. There is a quote by my favorite author, Stephen King, where he says that if you want to be a writer, you need to read and write a lot. I agree with this. Because how can you be a writer if you are not an avid reader? You can’t. It is helpful to read stories and literature from all over the spectrum. This will give you a chance to see all of the different tools that authors use and how to use them.

5. What is your book about, and what inspired you to write it?

The Dead Writer’s Society is about an author named Michael who always waits until the last minute to finish writing his stories, but one day he decides to follow his literary agent’s advice to write his next story ahead of schedule, then he develops a writer’s block, he stresses himself to the point that he has a panic attack and is tortured by a demonic entity.

6. Link, where you book, can be purchased.

7. Any other information you want to mention that fits the article’s theme.
