An interview with Animator, Dawn-Maria France ….

Dawn Maria France1. What is your name?

Hello! I’m Dawn-Maria France, an award-winning journalist from Harrogate, Yorkshire, and the editor-in-chief of Yorkshire Women’s Life Magazine. I love sharing inspiring stories and have trained in film and scriptwriting to create animated tales celebrating strong young girls, friendship, and family fun.

2. What is the name of your animations?

My animations include “The Adventures of Jenny and Philip,” which features Jenny and her cat, Philip, in “Jenny’s Carrot Adventures,” which showcases friendship and teamwork. The second animation follows Helen in the Caribbean on her quest for a magical bean plant, supported by her family. It’s called Helen and the magical bead plant.

3. Why did you get into writing animations?

I noticed a lack of strong young girls in animations, prompting me to create positive narratives highlighting engaging female characters and the importance of family and friendship.

Helen4. What advice can you give young animators??

Stay true to yourself, create engaging content, and take scriptwriting courses. Keep honing your craft, and don’t get discouraged.
