The Role Model In You
Today’s Guest – Dr. Rob Berberian

1. Your name, title, and age? What do you do (or did you do) for a living?

Hi! I’m Dr. Rob Berberian, D.O. and I’m 34 years old. I am a double board certified physician, specializing in Integrative Medicine and Spiritual Wellness. I am in private practice in Santa Monica, CA and the founder of Whole Health & Soul.

2. Who was the person that inspired you as a child to eat healthy and stay fit? What was their relationship to you?

My parents were my inspiration to lead a healthy lifestyle even as a child and young adolescent. My parents, being in the medical field, had a great source of knowledge that they were passionate about sharing with me to make sure that being healthy was an integral part of my life.

3. What did they do to inspire you?

As a child, you are easily influenced by people in your life, in good and bad ways. I have been fortunate to have amazing parents who shared their love and knowledge with me to shape and guide my life. Education, coupled with love, set the foundation for a healthy and active lifestyle at an early age.

4. How did their lesson change your life?

Learning about food and nutrition really affected the choices I made when I was not at home. Being out with friends or at school, you are faced with food options that may not be healthy. Being knowledgeable and consistent in your choices is essential for maintaining health.

5. Do you convey their message to kids in your life presently?

healthillustratedAs an Integrative Medicine physician, a big part of my practice is dedicated to helping my patients make the right choices when it comes to life and food. Millions of Americans have their struggles with food and it is very unfortunate that childhood obesity is a growing epidemic. The most important people in a child’s life are their parents, who have to set the foundation for a healthy and active lifestyle and as a physician I help both the parents and their children make the right daily decisions to stay healthy.

6. What would be your main message to children today to lead healthy lifestyles?

When we are young, we take our health for granted. It is never too early to start making the right decisions to eat healthy and stay active. It is a lot easier to prevent disease, than to treat it once we become sick. So make the healthy choices today to help prevent diseases like diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, cancer and other illnesses in the future.

7. Do you have a web site you would like to promote….web address only?
