Football World cup provided by Fifa is one of the biggest sports events to happen. A football World cup takes place after four years of the previous World cup to happen and collects a great revenue. 5 Benefits Of Energy Healing

By Veselina Dzhingarova

mansmileAn energy healer is someone who brings positive energies to those individuals who need help to re-balance their own energies or release the negative energies within them. Often, people that seek the help of an energy healer are struggling with grief, addiction, stress, depression or other mental health problems. They can feel like they are being consumed with negative energy and that they cannot find positivity on their own. An energy healer will help them to re-balance their energies and go forward, tackling their issues head on with renewed strength and love.

Energy healing can help anyone. It isn’t just about targeting specific issues. Here are just five ways consulting an energy healer in NYC could help you.

Stress Management

Stress is a huge problem in modern society. We’re all busy, always rushing, constantly on our phones, in demand and feeling like we’re not quite good enough. An abundance of negative energy can make it easy to get trapped in a cycle of stress. Going backward and forward stressing about different problems, never quite reaching any resolutions or feeling at peace. An energy healer could help you find ways to manage your stress through positivity, instead of getting sucked into negative thought processes.

Healthier Relationships

Building and maintaining positive relationships can be tough. Our relationships are influenced by how we interpret each other’s words and actions. Which is often prejudiced by how we feel about ourselves and the events and relationships of our past. Letting go of these negative energies can make it much easier to enjoy and appreciate our current and future relationships.

Productivity

One reason people struggle with productivity is a lack of self-confidence and self-belief. If we think we can’t do something, or that we’re not good enough or fast enough, this negativity holds us back. We procrastinate out of a fear of failure, we don’t give it our all and we struggle with our creative flow. An energy healer can help you to put all these negative feelings behind you. Instead, you will be able to think positively about your own abilities, focusing on what you are good at and seeking ways to improve where you aren’t as good. Progressing without fear will help you to become more productive and creative in your work.

Happiness

thumbsupUltimately, we’re all striving for happiness in all walks of life. But, many of us are stopping ourselves from achieving it by looking for the negatives in all situations. Energy healing can help you to cut out this habit and instead look for happiness and love in whatever you do.

Spiritual Growth

Clearing your mind and soul of negativity can help you to embrace your own spirituality. No longer held back by negative forces you could become a much calmer, more spiritual person, in tune with nature, your body and whatever power you believe in.

Put simply, energy healing uses positive energies to break through any internal barriers in the way of your happiness. Doing this allows your body to heal itself and your mind to grow. If you’ve never tried energy healing, why not give it a go?

5 Ways Regular Exercise Benefits College Students

Share Button

By Tess Pajaron

teensThere is an array of ways that exercise is beneficial, and this is especially true when it comes to college students. And while it can be difficult to find time for exercise between classes and homework, it is well-worth the effort. Here are 5 ways regular exercise benefits college students.

Improves Memory

Research has shown that memory begins to decrease in people as young as twenty years old, and this progresses as we age. However, it is well-known that exercise can help improve memory and even prevent memory loss. It is for this reason that college students should fit exercise into their schedule. After all, when you are trying to learn new disciplines you will need to make sure that your memory is functioning at the highest level possible.

Increases Focus

Maintaining focus during class is vital to the learning process and without the proper level of attention grades can slip. Fortunately for college students, exercising regularly will help the brain to stay more focused. In fact, studies have shown that even light exercise, such as a twenty-minute bike ride, can actually help relieve the symptoms of Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and similar learning disabilities. This goes a long way in showing how powerful exercise can be in staying focused.

Improves Mood

When you are in college, having the proper mindset is crucial to success and exercising can actually improve one’s mood. There are certain chemicals that are produced by the brain that affect our mood, such as dopamine and serotonin, and exercising helps to promote the release of these chemicals, which leads to an improved mood. And while maintaining high grades is important in college, so is meeting new friends, and there is a greater chance of being sociable when your mood is right.

Relieves Stress

It is no secret that stress can cause us to lose focus on the things that are most important to us, and for college students stress can be especially problematic. Similar to improving mood, exercise will reduce the amount of stress that the brain perceives by releasing natural stress fighting chemicals, which can help ease the mind. If you are attending a university and feel that you are becoming stressed for any reason, consider going for a short jog or a bicycle ride, and you will certainly feel stress levels begin to subside.

Promotes Brain Development

There is perhaps no greater benefit of exercise for college students than its ability to promote brain cell development. Exercise is noted for increasing the number of neurons, or braincells, and this bodes well for those in an environment where higher learning is taking place. Not only does exercise help in brain development, but it also increases the flexibility at which our brains access information. In laboratory tests on mice, this flexibility has been shown to improve the ability of mice in solving mazes and other cognitive tests.

College is often regarded as one of the most important steps in a person’s life, and therefore it is necessary that students are able to function at the highest level possible. To increase the potential of students while in college it is recommended that they exercise regularly. Exercising will help to increase the level of focus within the brain, while at the same time, drastically improving one’s mood. In addition, staying active will lower the amount of stress that the brain perceives and this is vital in limiting external distractions. Furthermore, exercise promotes brain development by allowing for added flexibility and thus improving cognitive processes. If you are a student in college, keep in mind these 5 ways that regular exercise will be beneficial.

Benefits of Bariatric Surgery For Liver Health

This article was supplied by PRWeb, but what are your thoughts about it?? Please share in the comments section below….

newspaperAn article published July 27 on Medical Xpress detailed two separate studies that pointed to how weight loss had tremendous benefits for the health of a patient’s liver. The article focused on the study and prevalence of “nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), a disease characterized by fat in the liver,” and how weight loss affected the remission of this disease. In the study that focused on weight loss surgery, it was shown that 85 percent of patients with NASH – which is also often referred to as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease – were no longer suffering from the condition when examined one year after their weight loss surgery. According to bariatric surgeon Michael Feiz, M.D., F.A.C.S, while very few similar studies have been done tying liver health directly to weight loss surgery, others, including one mentioned by the article, do examine liver health in terms of weight loss in general. Therefore, what this study (and many others pertaining to weight loss surgery’s benefit with a variety of other health conditions) really shows is that weight loss surgery is a tremendous tool to help patients lose weight. According to Dr. Feiz, there are two distinct ways that a weight loss surgery helps a patient lose the weight and keep it off:

1. “It Limits Capacity” – What all bariatric procedures have in common, notes Dr. Feiz, is that they are designed to make people feel full with less food at each meal. The gastric band technique does this by slowing the intake of food via a band placed around the entrance to the stomach, while the gastric sleeve works by actually removing a large portion of the stomach to create a smaller stomach. Dr. Feiz notes that he prefers these newer methods over the gastric bypass procedure because they do not alter the path of digestion, and generally offer a lower rate of complications.

2. “It Limits Cravings” – Dr. Feiz always reminds his patients that one of the biggest differences between the Lap Band and the gastric sleeve procedure is that the gastric sleeve provides the patient with added hormonal benefits. He explains that, when roughly 80 percent of the stomach is removed with the sleeve gastrectomy, the part of the stomach largely responsible for emitting much of the hunger hormone, known as ghrelin, is also removed. This means that, after the surgery, far less of this hormone reaches the brain every time the stomach is empty, significantly reducing cravings.

Dr. Feiz & Associates have helped countless patients send a variety of serious medical conditions into remission by losing weight with weight loss surgery. Benefits Of Attending A College Preparatory School

By Jamshed

teensThere are a number of benefits offered to students who attend a preparatory school. This is considered a bold approach to education and combines a number of academic concepts allowing students to thrive while learning advanced concepts sooner than they would in traditional education facilities. These schools blend higher education coursework with general studies in order to help give students a head start. Usually, these types of schools will allow you access to POA Tuition professionals to help you out.

Any parent or student that has considered enrolling in a preparatory school needs to be dedicated to focusing on the, often challenging, academic requirements. The good news is that each of these schools is specifically designed to help increase graduation rates and help to prepare students for a meaningful career.

A question that many people have in regard to prep schools is whether or not they really work. These schools undergo evaluations to report how the programs work and the outcome of the education a student receives. If the school is not performing as well as it should be, or there are serious questions regarding the effectiveness, then the schools may be shut down or have to undergo serious changes in their educational model in order to keep their doors open.

The fact is that prep schools are becoming increasingly important with the growing competitiveness in the job market. Students now need to seek a post-secondary education in order to ensure their financial security down the road. The programs used at these schools allow students to prepare for college coursework and see, first-hand, how rigorous it can be when studying for college level courses. This helps to ease the students into the life of a college student and increase their chances of success significantly.

Additionally, many schools offer students the ability to actually earn college credit while still in high school. This provides them a jump-start on their college degree. It will also help to minimize the amount of time the student has before seeking work in the job market. Students that complete this type of education will also have a much lower cost for college tuition since they already have two years of credits completed.

However, the most appealing benefit for many parents and students is the fact that these preparatory schools make college a real possibility for students who may have otherwise never had the opportunity or will to attend. These programs are not only beneficial for students, but also for the future of the community as a whole.

Benefits Of Toys And Brain Development In Toddlers

Share Button

By Veselina Dzhingarova

brainBrain development in toddlers is a reflection of how they understand the world around them. A great portion of this understanding is inherently developed during the first year of life where they learn to trust their senses. By the time they reach 18 months, they will already be supplementing their sensory experiences with other activities that are brought about by their interactions with the toys that we give them as well as their social interactions with other people. For the most part, toys have a great influence in their cognitive development. Here are some of the benefits of toys on the brain and cognitive development of toddlers.

1. Stimulates Curiosity

Toddlers are deemed natural explorers. Because of their improved motor skills and renewed confidence, they tend to explore a lot of things which would help them make sense of the world around them. Find toys that stimulate their sense of exploration and allow them to discover new things around them. By the time they reach 3 years old, they will already be bombarding you with a lot of “why” questions. It may be annoying sometimes because there is no end to their questions. But this is exactly how toddlers learn. Toys help them become naturally curious about certain things in their surroundings.

2. Helps Understand Cause-Effect Relationships

By age 18 months old, toddlers will already be able to understand simple causal relationships. They will already have an idea that a particular action will lead to a certain reaction. This can provide the basis for their ability to predict outcomes as well as identify potential consequences of any given action. Toys that help facilitate this understanding are thus, beneficial for brain development in toddlers. This can help them in the development of their creativity and imagination as they now have an idea of what will happen if they create or do something.

3. Develops Ability to Plan

Toddlers by age 2 years will already begin choosing and planning for their own playtime activities. This is because of the continuing maturity of their executive control systems, meaning, they are now able to take full control of their body movements particularly control of their limbs. This allows them to think of how best to use those movements to accomplish a certain task. Make-believe and pretend play toys can help toddlers make rough plans on how they need to carry out the game.

cutekids4. Learns Object Permanence

Young kids have this idea that an object that cannot be seen is an object that is not existent. That is why they love very much playing with peek-a-boo simply because of the magic of the disappearing face. However, by the time they reach 2 years of age, toddlers already begin to understand object permanence. This simply means that toddlers are getting more efficient at playing hide and seek. This also means that they can now play with toys that allow them to search for clues and other objects. Puzzles and sorters will fit this bill perfectly.

5. Improves Concentration and Focus

While the attention span of a toddler is a measly 6 minutes, giving the right kind of toy can drastically improve this by keeping him interested and focused on the toy itself. This is where high quality toys can be differentiated from mediocre ones as the former can sustain a toddler’s interest for prolonged periods of time. This can help improve their focus and concentration which can also help improve their overall cognitive development.

There are other benefits of toys on toddlers’ brain development. Suffice it to say that toys are the instruments upon which a child’s growth and development are formed and enhanced.

Exploring The Big Benefits Of A Standing Desk

Share Button

By Steven Walker

deskNew research and science are increasingly showing the negative impact of a sedentary lifestyle, and this includes spending many hours seated at a desk while you’re in the workplace. Some of the risks of long periods of sitting include weight gain and obesity, an increased risk of diabetes, and a higher likelihood of developing heart disease. According to the Guide to Sitting Disease from Beyond the Office Door, 50 to 70 percent of people spend at least six hours sitting every day.

To combat these issues, more and more workers are opting for a standing desk over the traditional office setup where they’re seated for the majority of their workday.

If you’re considering the use of a standing desk, you may be wondering what the benefits are, specifically, of this type of setup.

Below are a few of the biggest standing desk benefits that can have a positive impact on almost anyone.

Preventing Weight Gain and Increasing the Number of Calories Burned

When you’re seated, you’re burning very few calories, which can lead to weight gain and an increased risk of obesity. Consider these figures, based on the use of the Calorie Calculator from JustStand.org, which show that a 150-pound person who works seven hours a day would burn 788 calories while sitting, as compared to 1050 calories if they stand while working. That’s an additional 262 calories a day just from moving from sitting to standing at work.

Reduction in Back Pain

Many of us have significant back pain, and this can lead to more serious injuries and chronic suffering. Back pain can hinder our lifestyles and our productivity, but a lot of workers find that standing for at least a portion of this work day can help them alleviate some of their back and also neck discomfort. Much of this comes from the fact that sitting at a desk can lead to poor posture and slumping, which isn’t going to occur with a standing desk, particularly if you focus on standing up straight and maintaining good alignment.

More Alert and Productive

It’s not just physical improvements that you might see from making a move from a sitting to a standing desk. It can also lead to mental improvements that can make you more alert and productive throughout the day. When you’re sitting for long periods, you may tend to get drowsy which can lead to declines in your energy and productivity level. When you’re standing you’re naturally more energized, so you may find that in addition to feeling better, you can get more done in a shorter amount of time.

Improved Mood and Energy

According to research conducted by the Take a Stand Project, after a seven-week study, participants who used a standing desk said they had less fatigue and stress than the participants who were seated during their entire work day.

Also interesting was the fact that 87% of the people who used a standing desk said they felt like their vigor and energy levels were improved.

As part of the study participants went back to the original seated desks, and mood levels seemed to go back to their previous levels.

These are just a few of the many advantages of standing at the workplace, rather than remaining seated, and all of which can be good not just at the office, but for health and mental wellness outside of work as well.

The Health And Well-being Benefits Of Modern Rhinoplasty

By James Helliwell

newsRhinoplasty is not just used for increasing your aesthetic appearance. Rhinoplasty can help with a wide variety of health problems and can be used to increase personal well-being. You should always go to a reputable practice. We spoke with Sam Becker, who runs The Rhinoplasty Center based in Philadelphia to outline some of the health benefits that this procedure can have.

Alleviating respiratory sleep problems

Many sleep problems can be linked to breathing issues such as sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is a potentially dangerous condition in which sufferers stop breathing in the middle of sleep. The condition may lead to heart problems, and, when it is severe, it may increase the risk of stroke and cancer.

This is important because sleep apnea often stems from an underlying physiological problem, which, in some cases, stems from a malformed or misshapen nose. In these cases, getting rhinoplasty may significantly alleviate, if not cure, the underlying cause of the sleep apnea, as changes may be made to the size and shape of the nose, thus facilitating easier breathing.

Correcting injuries stemming from sports or accidents

A number of people suffer with body image issues as a result of damage done while playing sports or being involved in an accident, as nose injuries are common. A broken or fractured nose can seriously affect the appearance of the nose, as well as cause respiratory problems that may not have existed previously.

Getting rhinoplasty can remedy both the aesthetic and health-related consequences of a nose injury, which will boost feelings of confidence and well-being.

Increasing self-esteem and feelings of psychological well-being

Many people don’t understand the extent to which unhappiness with facial features can lead to feelings of diminished psychological and emotional well-being. If looking in the mirror causes someone unhappiness to the point of withdrawing from work or social activities, it may be time to consider examining the cause and exploring solutions that will enhance feelings of happiness and self-esteem. The nose is a very common source of unhappiness for a number of people, making rhinoplasty instrumental in solving longstanding problems.

Coffee’s Potential Health Benefits

This article is courtesy of PRWeb and the Harvard Heart Letter. Please share your thoughts below…..

cupcoffeeCoffee is a nearly calorie-free beverage brimming with antioxidants. It might ease artery-damaging inflammation and deliver substances that support heart health.

Coffee drinkers around the world savor the bitter brew on a daily basis. But are there any grounds for concern regarding coffee’s effects on the heart? On the contrary: the case for drinking coffee seems to be growing, reports the March 2015 Harvard Heart Letter. Coffee — minus the cream and sugar — is a nearly calorie-free beverage brimming with antioxidants. It also might ease artery-damaging inflammation and deliver a substance that helps the body regulate blood sugar.

“The evidence for the benefits of coffee consumption is even more convincing than it was five years ago, especially when it comes to preventing type 2 diabetes and reducing the risk of heart disease and stroke,” says Dr. Frank Hu, professor of nutrition and epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health.

Although caffeine is by far the most studied compound in coffee, the beverage is a complex brew that contains hundreds, if not thousands, of bioactive components. Among these are vitamins, minerals, and potent, plant-based anti-inflammatory compounds known as polyphenols. Most likely, it’s the combination of these substances, rather than caffeine itself, that confers coffee’s potential health benefits.

Caffeine, a mild stimulant, triggers a short-term rise in blood pressure and heart rate. While some coffee drinkers welcome the stimulant effect, others complain that caffeine causes daytime jitters and sleepless nights. Now, researchers acknowledge that a moderate amount of caffeine is fine for most people with heart disease as long as they don’t have a heart-rhythm problem.

“People develop tolerance to caffeine within a few days, so the effects cannot be extrapolated to the long term. Over time, caffeine does raise the resting metabolic rate and increase energy expenditure, albeit modestly, so it may actually turn out to be helpful in controlling body weight,” says Dr. Hu.

New Study On The Hassles Vs. The Benefits Of The Home Cooked Meal

Share Button

Thank you to PRWeb for supplying this article discussing how the blog eHealthPath.com examined a study from sociologists at North Carolina State University regarding the hassles and benefits of planning, creating and serving a family meal daily.

healthyheartDetermining whether or not families who sit down together for at least one daily meal are healthier than families who eat on the run has weighed heavily on busy parents for decades. In a new blog dated Oct. 1, 2014 titled “Benefits vs. Hassles of Home Cooked Meals,” eHealthPath.com blogger Liz Ernst addresses a new study titled “The Joy of Cooking?” that finds the chore of cooking family meals might be asking too much of already overstretched parents.

The study, written and published by North Carolina State University Sociologists Sarah Bowen, Sinikka Elliott and Joslyn Brenton, finds that time limitations, financial constraints, and the “feeding challenges that shape the family meal” might make the chore of cooking a family dinner too burdensome for parents, or more specifically, women.

The research findings show that the ideal of home cooking and family meals place undue stresses on many families, and are simply unachievable to others.

According to Bowen, an associate professor of sociology at NC State and co-author of a paper on the ongoing study, the study’s purpose is to understand the relationship between the ideal (of the family meal) that is presented in popular culture and the realities that people live with when it comes to feeding their children.

Study researchers interviewed 150 female caregivers in families with children between the ages of 2 and 8, and conducted in-depth observations of 12 of these families for a total of 250 hours. Their findings conclude that middle-class, working-class and poor families face some similar challenges, and that mothers from all backgrounds reported difficulty in finding time to prepare meals that everyone in the family would be willing to eat.

Input from mothers involved in the study include the struggle some say they feel between their desire to spend quality time with their children and the expectation to provide a home cooked meal routinely. Financial concerns also play a prominent role in meal planning, as many middle-class mothers often worry about their inability to afford fresh and organic foods for their meals.

Poor families face the toughest limitations, citing an inability to afford items like fresh produce or the kitchen tools they need to prepare meals, and to obtain transportation to and from the grocery store.

According to Bowen, poor mothers often skip meals and stand in long lines at non-profit food pantries to provide food for their children, which makes the idea of home cooked meal making seem unrealistic.

In her eHealthPath blog, Ernst offers suggestions from these and other study authors for overcoming many of the barriers modern families face in incorporating the family meal into their daily routines, and the many benefits doing so can provide.
